Although we are advised to stay at home lately and avoid contact from the outside world, it’s too impossible to stay home for a long time. To keep you and the people you love protected against any possible virus you brought home with you, you must know what to do next when you return home. Here are the basic protective measures to keep yourself and your family protected.
If you were out in a public place, whether for a short or long period, it’s best to put distance between yourself and the people at home, especially if you have kids or the elderly living with you. Try to take a bath first and make sure you have thoroughly cleaned yourself.
When you sneeze or cough, make sure to cover your mouth and nose with a tissue, or you can use the inside of your elbow. Don’t forget to throw the used tissues properly in the trash. Wash your hands immediately for at least 20 seconds with antibacterial soap and running water.
If antibacterial soap and water are not available, you can apply a hand sanitizer. Make sure to cover all surfaces of your hands and rub them together thoroughly until they feel dry. Another thing is, you also need to clean and disinfect the items you used while you were out like a smartphone, shoes, cap, etc.
Remember, prevention is always better than cure.
